Not being constantly consistent is normal

Throughout this month I’ve been quite occupied with work and marathon training, where I haven’t been able to spend as much of my time on my usual hobbies. This isn’t due to lack of motivation as currently I’m quite excited about my latest side project. I have to remind myself this is quite normal, admittedly I do feel quite stressed about it.

I think this is mainly due to the constant pressure we all feel from external sources where everyone is always “hustling”, and if you aren’t constantly working you’re wasting your time. But I do need to remind myself that this constant hustle culture isn’t healthy and what is shared online is such a narrow view on what their life is actually like day-to-day.

You just need to let yourself know this is normal and not to get worked up over not spending “enough” time on side projects. As we all have enough external pressures around work, and life; the last thing you need is self inflicted stresses. Knowing it is okay not to hustle at all times is fine and completely normal.

Some months will be better than others and goals are achieved over a course of a long time spent doing something hard, rather than being constantly burnt out. As long as your consistent on your goals over the long run you’ll see results.

Thanks, Nathan.
